The Basking Shark

These marine creatures are very distinctive and peculiar-looking. They are known as bus-sized filter-feeders – this is because they use filtration to separate their food from the ocean water. The Basking Shark is the second-largest fish species and is known to be a gentle giant. These creatures can reach up to eight meters in length and weigh roughly 5 200 kilograms. The diet consists primarily of zooplankton.
