The Great White Shark
The great white shark is an apex predator, meaning that it is at the top of the food chain and has no natural predators, other than the killer whale. It can be found in the coastal waters of all the major oceans. This shark is very big – it is normally about the length of three average-sized men, but it can be much bigger. The heaviest great white ever recorded weighed in at around 2½ tons. The diet of this species consists primarily of sea otters and earless seals.
