Luxembourg
Much to many people’s surprise, Luxembourg is officially the richest country in the world. The GDP per capita of this tiny country is just under $120 000, which is almost $33 000 more than any other location. The money stems from the very successful banking, steel, and industrial sectors. Due to the size, the population of Luxembourg is very small. At the end of 2019, it was recorded that only 615 000 people lived in the European country, making it one of the least populated in the whole of Europe.
