Qatar has a population of just over 2.7 million people. Due to its oil and gas reserves, this small country is the richest in the Middle East, followed by the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia. The GDP per capita was recorded to be just over $65 000 at the start of 2020, making it the sixth wealthiest country in the world.
